Painted in thick layers of paint.
The decoupage has been printed in fade-resistant ink designed to last up to 100 years before any fading occurs. Then painted over the top to blend all of the components together. The text reads, in the colours of the undercoat.
Distressed all over to reveal glimpses of the undercoat and back to wood in some areas to age it. I paint thickly, with texture and dribbles to create the feel of a genuinely aged bohemian piece that retains the spirit of the furniture.
Finally varnished with a floor varnish to provide a durable finish.
This is a very old ANTIQUE Lady who has been lovingly refurbished and has many life marks, dinks, knocks etc. The construction is of a high quality, lightweight mahogany veneer.
The lock no longer functions so i have glued the key in place for a handle and added a catch inside. The drawer slides well. The insides are quite lovely and rustic, clean with no odour. Some shrinkage in the planks in the back of the piece and bottom of the drawer. Some chips and chunks missing from the veneer. But the whole piece is structurally sound and sturdy.
Dimensions: 101.5cm long, 40cm deep and 85cm high.
