Painted in thick layers of paint.
The decoupage has been printed in fade-resistant ink designed to last up to 100 years before any fading occurs. Then painted over the top to blend all of the components together. The text reads, in the colours of the undercoat.
Distressed all over to reveal glimpses of the undercoat and back to wood in some areas to age it. I paint thickly, with texture and dribbles to create the feel of a genuinely aged bohemian piece that retains the spirit of the furniture.
Finally varnished with a floor varnish to provide a durable finish.
