Small Painted Cabinet- 'It Was a Dream' Red and Blue

Painted in thick layers of paint (I always sand items prior to painting to ensure the paint adheres nicely.) The decoration features an antique postcard. The decoupage has been printed in fade-resistant ink designed to last up to 100 years before any fading occurs. I have then hand-painted over the top to blend all of the components together in very thick, very textured layers and dribbles. The text reads in the colours of the undercoat. . Distressed back to the burgundy and blue undercoat in some areas to age it and create texture. I aim to create the feel of a genuinely aged bohemian piece.Finally varnished with a floor varnish to provide a durable finish.The whole thing is sturdy and structurally sound. The insides are good and clean, painted red and the door latches securely. The shelf is missing.
