Tall, narrow cupboard or wardrobe.
Painted in thick layers of paint. I always sand items prior to painting to ensure the paint adheres properly. The decoupage has been printed in fade-resistant ink designed to last up to 100 years before any fading occurs. Then painted over the top to blend all of the components together. The text reads 'the fair breeze blew, the white foam flew’ in the colours of the undercoat. This is a quote from ‘The Ryme of the Ancient Mariner’.
Distressed all over to reveal glimpses of the undercoat and back to wood in some areas to age it. I paint thickly, with texture and dribbles to create the feel of a genuinely aged bohemian piece that retains the spirit of the furniture. Finally varnished with a floor varnish to provide a durable finish.
This is a vintage piece, in very good condition. The piece is made from a mic of veneer and solid oak and is sturdy and structurally sound. The door latches well with original brass handle.
